About Me.
Olivia Lewis, PhD (She/ Her/ Hers)
My journey in the field of counseling started at James Madison University, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. From here I moved back to my hometown of Philadelphia, PA where I obtained my Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling at La Salle University. Over the next couple of years, I gained experience working in community mental health centers and worked in a residential facility for homeless youth. Throughout my time here, I noticed how little nature was used as a tool for healing, something that was so integral to my own healing journey. I then made it my mission to bring the healing aspects of nature to those in underserved communities. I decided it was time to make an impact on a different scale and began a PhD program in counselor education and supervision at the University of South Carolina. Throughout my time in South Carolina, I worked with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and began my research journey into the healing powers of nature within the counseling process.
After my time in South Carolina came to a close, I moved to Oregon where I obtained a job at Oregon State University as a faculty member in the counseling program. Here, I continue my research efforts into making nature an accessible part of our lives. The next step in my journey was to open LivWell Counseling, where I hope to be a guide to those looking for a wellness based counseling approach.

I spend most of my free time finding outdoor activities that I can do with my dog, Todd. I enjoy hiking, biking, rafting, camping, backpacking, and more. I also love to read books, listen to true crime podcasts, garden, watercolor paint, and make jewelry.
